Without it's own hemp industry Namibia will always have to import hemp products. Hemp is known to have over 50,000 uses. The demand for cannabis is evident from the quantities of cannabis being confiscated by the police. By legalizing the industry the government can better regulate it and protect minors. We have sick people being arrested and jailed for using or growing a plant recognized to have medicinal properties by the UN and World Health Organization. This is where it becomes a human rights issue.
